The Fairlight Players - Amateur Dramatic group

I first joined The Fairlight Players amateur dramatic group shortly after moving to Fairlight in 1996. The Fairlight Players were founded in 1950 and usually put on two plays per year in the Spring and Autumn.

During my time as a member, I have played everything from an Italian hotel manager in Derek Benfield's  "Fish Out Of Water" in 1997  to a Detective in Ray Cooney's farce "Funny Money" in 2010.

My all-time favourite part was when I played 'Georgie Pilson' in E.F. Benson's "Make Way For Lucia" in 2005, based on the tv series - 'Mapp & Lucia'.

Loves A Luxury - The Fairlight Players - 2001

"Love's A Luxury" was such a funny play to be involved in and a real task too, impersonating a missing 'House keeper', Mrs Harris played by my dear, late cousin Di Davidson (pictured left) who sadly passed in 2003.

Enjoy the video below.

Really enjoyed this comedy "There Goes The Bride" lots of laughs and twists!

A very well written farcical comedy by Ray Cooney and John Chapman. Playing along side my late cousin Di Davidson again, who stood in for Esther De Vries due to sickness, (hence Di reading from the book).

"Make Way For Lucia" - The Fairlight Players - 2003

One of my all time favourite parts I have played. "Make Way For Lucia" received some favourable comments from the E. F. Benson Society who commented in a letter to 'the Players' that our performance was on par with something seen in the 'West End'. It was a real pleasure to have been involved in this production, acting along side some very talented actors and friends.
